No Elite Skills
It's not bound to happen but it's a thought. What if all the elites were nerfed down to regular skill form or skills such are lightning surge was split into 2 skills(dmg and knockdown). Would it work or epic fail idea?

Epic Fail. Elites are limited to one per bar to prevent exploitation to the nth degree already. Part of Guild Wars is searching for and securing elites to empower your character. In a skill based mmorpg losing the elites would kill the game.

Even more build diversity? More tiger stance poison warriors
Search for elites loses it's appeal due to PvP characters(faction and unlock). Even if this is a skill based rpg, people running the same elites/builds won't be better simply because of that.

No, it'd create a shit-load of OP skills and build that no one'll ever fix.

If your going to make a thread about it, atleast give some good reasons why it would actually be a benefit

You forgot [Way of the Assassin] for more pressure & imba, and [Palm Strike] to get to shattering assault. Hell, while we are at it, lets bring along [Beguiling Haze].

I think it's funny that things that we are given are taken for granted and a life without them is petty and meaningless. It's like if women had three breasts or everyone had an extra eye. If someone said,
"Wouldn't it be cool if we didn't have an eye on our forehead?"
All the replies would be, "lolno, srsly wtf? /facepalm"
So, to just about all the posts in this thread which is accounted for indirectly by my post, you fail.
In my opinion, I think having the elite skill is neat and clever. However, it has an 'elite' status. It's a skill that's a little stronger than the other skills, but you can only have one of them. So, it makes you think. To be honest, if they were normal skills, you'd see probably a more balanced game. The fact that all these powerful skills can be used in a bar, doesn't mean that just because some assassin throws on all these powerful skills, doesn't mean the monk he/she is attacking has powerful healing skills as well. Remember, to think on balanced ends or your logic crumbles immediately.

Eh...no. That just means that most every build would be composed of former elites, and large numbers of skills would instantly be 100% inferior to other skills (energy burn vs energy surge, etc).
If every class were ridiculously OP-ed, the game wouldn't be balanced. It'd just be far more twitchy, as proliferation of OP-ed builds would inevitably lead to builds that could do more damage in less time, consistently, which would be spike heaven. The room for error that monks possess right now is already very small for catching spikes, there's really no need to reduce it any further. Just as there is no need to scrap a system that has worked, and worked damn well for over 3 years, when doing so produces no definitive benefits.

I can't see any benefit to doing so, honestly.
